JEWISH DOUBLE MONUMENTS

A companion monument for a Jewish family marks two lives lived as one—designed to be read as a single piece of work, not two separate halves.

The Hebrew name (following the traditional parent-reference format) sits alongside the English name and dates, with the traditional five-letter abbreviation at the bottom of the stone.

Companion stones frequently carry symbols of family and lineage: the Star of David, a menorah, kohen hands, a levite pitcher, or lions and a crown. Many families also include the Hebrew date alongside the civil one. Where one name is inscribed now and the second later, we return to the cemetery to cut the second date, matching the original lettering exactly.

A quick note on timing: because the stone must be dedicated at an unveiling (commonly near the first yahrzeit), it needs to be set well ahead of time. Reach out to us early so we can coordinate with the cemetery's schedule.
