SINGLE MONUMENTS

Individual monuments designed to stand as a single, dignified tribute. Each piece is shaped and inscribed to reflect the unique life it memorializes.

Classic Single Granite Headstones

An upright monument is the most traditional way to mark a life, and for many families it simply feels right—a stone that stands at eye level, visible from across the section.

Every upright consists of two pieces: the die (the standing "tablet" that carries the name) and the base it rests on. Getting that proportion right is what makes a monument look settled rather than awkward. Most cemeteries publish maximum sizes for each plot, so we always check those limits first before anyone falls in love with a design that will not fit.

Color is more than just a matter of taste. Deep black and other dark granites hold diamond and hand etching, which can reproduce a photograph, portrait, landscape, or family home in striking detail. Lighter grays and mahoganies are the traditional choice for sandblasted lettering and carved artwork, where the depth of the cut creates the contrast.

From there, the design is completely yours: a shape carve rose, praying hands, a service emblem, a favorite view, or lettering ranging from classic Roman to hand-drawn script.

Take your time looking through the designs below. When you're ready, we will sit down and talk it through—no rush at all.
