CEMETERY MARKERS

A flat or beveled marker is a quiet tribute—low to the ground, unhurried, and just as permanent as a standing monument.

The main difference is the profile. A flat marker sits level with the lawn so mowers pass right over it, keeping the section open and clear. A beveled marker (sometimes called a pillow marker) is thicker at the back than the front, lifting the face toward you so it is easy to read from a standing position without rising above the grass. Both are cut from solid granite; only the angle changes.

This is where cemetery regulations matter most. Many memorial parks permit flat markers exclusively to maintain a clean landscape, and they enforce strict size and border requirements. We confirm those specs with the cemetery before your design is finalized so nothing ever has to be recut and no one gets turned away.

Within those limits, there is still plenty of room to personalize it with sandblasted scenes, religious emblems, service insignia, a personal inscription, and granite ranging from traditional gray to deep black.
