An angel is chosen for a particular kind of loss—when a family wants the stone itself to offer a sense of comfort or a figure keeping watch, rather than just a name and dates.

Each piece is carved from a single solid block of granite, which is why stone selection matters as much as the sculpting. Fine-grained granite holds delicate details like feathers, folded hands, and facial expressions through decades of New Jersey freeze-and-thaw cycles, whereas coarser stone slowly softens over time. It is an invisible decision now, but it is the one your grandchildren will see.

Most sculpted angels are set on their own granite base. The figure can stand as the memorial itself or rest beside an upright die carrying the names and dates. A weeping angel folded over the die, a standing guardian with wings drawn back, or a praying figure paired with a carved rose—each brings a different feeling, and there is no wrong choice.

Because sculpted pieces stand taller than standard uprights, some cemetery sections limit overall height, so we check that early. Then our artisans prepare a scaled drawing for you to approve before a single cut is made.
